Nothing to fear but fear itself

118-Fear-is-a-lie-quote
Projectfear
Now theres a name if I ever heard one and a more apt name couldn’t have been thought up by by the Westminster men in black if they had tried. It sets the scene of figures draped in dark cloaks in an old dungeon under Windsor castle planning their strategy to scare the bejezezus out of the average person to a Boris Karloff backing track of lightning and Organ symphonies.
What they don’t realise is that we aren’t in the 1950s anymore where we might be swayed by being intimidated and scared in submission. Its as if they dusted off the old Imperialism for beginners manual and thought
“Oooh look our Grandfathers grandfathers did it like this”
and off they went to pen Propaganda pamphlets for the No campaign titled
“For Projectfears eyes only”
scared_face
No doubt the “Rev I am Jolly” appreciation fan-club loved it and thought
“We will now be named Projectfear” then duly proceeded to recite the ProjectFear motto
“Abandon all truth ye who enter here” which is no doubt on a plaque above the door.

Honestly it’s almost farcical that these people have such low esteem for the people of Scotland that they would try to use fear against the people who voted them into office in the first place.
Even worse is the blatant dishonesty from them regarding an Independent Scotland post 2014 when its common knowledge they are being lets say less than economical with the truth
Are they so scared of losing their jobs that they would rather see endemic poverty under the Union which has given us a higher child poverty rate than the Gaza strip in certain parts of our major cities.
Are they so desperate to cling to what little power they have that they enable such capricious policies as the Bedroomtax.Do we matter so little that they would rather spend 125 billion pounds on trident instead of feeding and homing the poor and disabled? How can this be justified in a country which isn’t only resource rich, but also the eighth richest country in the world.
Yes it’s not right and as a matter of fact it’s so far from right it’s an inverted system which we live in under this alleged Union Governance.

Yes I said it and I stick by it:
“We live in an inverted system under Westminster Governance”
and the reason I can say this is because They pay for Death but refuse to invest in life and to me that’s inverted and inhumane.Who in their right mind supports policies which strip people of their dignity and deny them of their human rights, all the while purchasing shiny weapons?
That isn’t the sign of a civilized society its the sign of a barbaric one that preys on the innocent all the while turning a blind eye to the real villains, who avoid billions in taxes while old people freeze in the winter and parents are forced to go to foodbanks to feed their children.
beggar-i-want-change
Change is within our grasp and its receptive to hope
This is where we come to the nothing to fear part and an explanation on why we have nothing to fear but fear itself. Firstly lets talk about the fear factory illusion that we will be “weaker apart” which is basically a nonsense if you look at the direction Westminster seem to be going with a UKIP/tory alliance in 2015.
So in all honesty it’s not the unknown people should be wary of but what a future in the Union can and will guarantee.
I would rather take a chance on a wealthier and healthier society than have endemic poverty and inverted ethics as a certainty ,it’s what you would call a no brainer if you look at the future Tory/Ukip Governments which are coming in the near future.
We would have a far more inclusive society without the Dickensian policies which demonize the poor and disabled aided by a consistent diatribe from the mainstream media, also we would be  much wealthier as we wouldn’t be paying for Trident and financing the transformation of the Middle East into a car park.
So financially and socially as an independent nation we would be better off yes?

Return of the Said”Aye”

Jedi

In a Galaxy far far away
Well Clydebank if we are going to be grammatically correct there was a trade union meeting and our favourite Bettertogether aficionado Anas Sarwar was a guest speaker.
Anas obviously thought he was in for an easy ride regurgitating the same old
“Be afraid,be very afraid” rhetoric which all 3 of the Unionist parties use on a continuos loop.Oh what a shock Anny must have got when the people that turned weren’t going to put up with his nonsense about how misery likes company and you’re too wee to be independent.
Lets say it didn’t go to plan for Anas as even the staunchest believer in old Labour values has started to realise that they are just tories in red coats and another wing of the one party right centric politics of Westminster.A system that believes in spending billions on war and trident before homing and feeding the poor and disabled.
Its pretty apparent that people have had enough of the snake oil pitches and promises of bread and jam from the Bettertogether contingent so you can understand if people decided that”enough was enough” and demanded answers vocally.
Wouldnt you?
Kilted Stormptroopers
Attack of the Drones
Next we have the social media cyberverse where it seems as if Westminster has activated the 666 protocol on their Drones cerebral chip*cue march of the Empire* and sent their councilors into the fray with no doubt a head full of smarties and a handfull of literature.
What the Bettertogether mothership down in Westminster don’t understand is that we don’t swallow their half truths and fearmongering anymore as we are all aware that the profit before people system they cherish is heartless and cruel.
Which basically means the No camp have nothing good to say and less of an urge to say it,hence why they use the repetitive diatribe and about how
“We are better in the union because were bigger and just cause”
For twelve months the full weight of the media has aided and abetted the Unionist cause with an almost Pythonesque bias which has become so apparent now its farcical.I can only assume that they have realised that we see the mainstream media for what they are and have sent what forces they can muster from the Political sock drawer to defend the indefensible!

YES March & Rally for Scottish Independence. Image by Ivon Bart
The Return of the Said”aye”s

Last week when I wrote about a beacon being lit in the hearts and minds of Scotland’s people it was no jest as this beacon is reaching afar with the Yes side.Reports coming from the Yes campaign are good and people are seeing a tidal shift from undecideds to the yes side which is fantastic and fills me with hope, joy and a feeling of expectation.
Who would have thought that the 30’000 Said”Aye”s would cause such a ripple in the independence debate in spite of the empires best efforts to dampen down the event with an almost total media blackout.
Oh how wrong they were because those 30’000 Said”Aye”s left calton hill on the 21st September 2013 with fire in their bellies and hope in their minds.
A great wave of positive Said”Aye”s spread throughout Scotland and the rest of the world spreading the good word about Scotland’s Independence and the benefits of yes 2014.
Since the March and Rally on the 21st everyone is focused and inspired to become the change they want to see and that change is an independent Scotland free from Dickensian Policies which we know will end with a yes vote. You could even go as far as to say that the 30’000 has multiplied ten fold since the Said”aye”s descended the hill and hit the streets running.

A new Hope

The finest example of how public opinion is coming to the Yes side is the meeting on the 3rd of October in Leith where the hall was full beyond capacity.Actually it was such a big a turnout that the confirmed Said”Aye”s volunteered to leave so undecideds could attend and in turn be informed.
Having meetings filled beyond capacity is a true representation of how our campaign is going and lets just say its a healthy positive Yes camp full of inspiration and elation for our Independent Nation.

Picture This….
5am before the sun has risen on a desperately cold December morning and everything is still in the world. In the distance of your mind you hear the faint rumble of something invading your dream-state”What is that” you ask yourself?
The rumble gets close and it finally dawns on you that the rumble isn’t a dream after all but the camp firing up for the days compulsory toil for bed and sustenance.
Already you can hear the people coming through the gates crunching through the knee-deep snow coughing and spluttering with an almost rhythmic sound.
You tap the bunk above to wake old Allie as he’s a bit deaf so sleeps like a brick despite the constant chatter of the other 200 men, woman and children who reside in shed 66.Then the two of you are up and away within a couple of minutes as you both know that the food hall will be warm and if you want any of the salt for your oats you have to be in the first 100.
As you are walking the 100 yards to the food hall you think back to when you actually had a decent job, family and a home call your own as Allie says
“How did we get here son”
Welcome to the Neo Dickensian Future
OliTwist1948L_468x336
It seems as if Westminster are going back to the 1800’s with their latest denigration and humiliation of the poorest in society with their Workfare program.A horrific forced labour program that has only one purpose and that purpose is as abhorrent as the policy itself.
Basically Westminster has now decided through its Corpocracy that multi million pound corporations need to increase their profit margins and the best way to do that is cut the wage bill. Before anyone says”it’s not about that ” or “they have to do something for their money” I say this:
Do you think your employers going to pay you if they can get free labour?
Happy Rich Businessman with US Dollars banknotes and Euro banknotes
Of course they aren’t if they can get their drivers and call center workers shipped in from the local jobcentre at the stroke of a key or the lift of a phone.Even better for them the Westminster Government will give them a nice wedge of cash for using this unlimited source of free labour so for an employer its a win win situation.
For the other 99% of the population its a whole different story and not a nice one at that as basically you become in servitude.
Call it peasantry, slavery or forced labour its all part of a small elite wanting to establish a Neo Dickensian state where we have the “haves” and the “do as your told” or starve.
It’s as if the whole 20th century never happened and a kind of unreal almost nightmarish like scenario of a dark dickens novel is upon us.
Some might say those words are “strong” but so they should be as this policy has no other purpose than too impoverish the majority for the greed of the minority.
Welfare……The myth exposed
What politicians and the mainstream media choose not to understand is that we don’t actually have welfare in this country. We have an entirely different thing called Social security which basically means you have paid in to the pot for education, healthcare and benefits.
Basically every time you get paid you have a thing called National Insurance deducted which is your “Social Security”and we have paid for it in full.
Yes everyone is covered because even if you haven’t contributed you can bet your last pound that your fathers and grandfathers have.
So don’t be fooled by the propagandists who say we live in a “something for nothing” culture or”we have to make work pay” as our debts to Westminster are paid in full.
Not only are your debts paid in full they are paid well in advance of your Grandchildren’s,Grandchildren and probably a few generations extra on top.

Silhouette of oil platform in sea against moody sky at sunset

Then we have our resources revenue surplus

People tend to forget that in Scotland no one should be living in extreme poverty as we are an oil-producing Nation with a population smaller than London’s.
Neither should we have parts of our country where the child poverty rate is higher than the Gaza strip.
We are like a strange inverted type of Beverley Hillbillies story who strike oil but became all the poorer for it?
Now its not as if we haven’t collected massive revenues for it,we have and lots of it but somehow all this wealth was squandered by war centric men who pay for death before they invest in life.
Who do you think paid for Iraq,Afghanistan and trident?
We did with our resources and our revenues and we deserve better than men in shiny suits with Eton educations telling us
“We need to earn our benefits” or “Make work pay”

Vote Yes in 2014 to end Dickensianism in Scotland

The Edinburgh Enigma

Indyrally
The Independence Rally occurred on the 21st of September in our Nations capital gathering 30’000 people from all over Scotland and beyond to march for a fairer Independent Nation. There were people from every political persuasion and many with No Political affiliation but all were marching for the same cause. From young to old and meek to bold all were there to support and endorse their campaign for an independent Scotland
calton hill
You would think a gathering of that multitude and its significance in Scotland’s Tapestry would have a full quota of BBC,STV and Sky mobile units jostling for the best view points and ways to capture the event.
Imagine my surprise when I hear that none of the terrestrial channels are in the press pit or in attendance with any form of coverage?
No mobile units with satellite dishes on top or crane cams being set up at the High street to capture the mass of flags and banners.Neither were there any reporters jostling through the crowds getting interviews from participants and hearing their stories of why they are voting Yes.
Respect to the Russians
Its a strange set of affairs when Russia Today are more interested in our Nations future than the stations who rely on our licenses and viewing figures for advertisers and in turn revenue. There again we have observed and witnessed the lack of impartiality from our terrestrial channels in the past year so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised by the No show.
The Enigma
It wasn’t the lack of attendance that concerned me but what happened later that discombobulated me slightly and made me think someone needs to be held to account over this.
The 30’000 had been reduced to 8000 according to the BBC and STV only broadcast a 30 second sound-byte of coverage on Saturdays short but sweet News broadcast.
Where did the other 22’000 go?Was there a closing down sale at the Harry Potter cloak shop.Did a strange mist come from the Forth and envelope the missing 22’000 in a pea soup like fog?Aliens maybe or did Scotty hit the wrong button and beamed the 22’000 up to the Enterprise?
YES March & Rally for Scottish Independence. Image by Ivon Bart
Sadly it wasn’t anything half as exciting as the mother-ship theory it was more the case that None of our Terrestrial News networks were there as they had committed the sin of JournoSloth.
Our so-called free press contacted Police Scotland before the march had even started to inquire about”Estimated”numbers coming to the event. Not even the factual numbers after or during the event but the “Estimated” numbers and run with that scoop on our National networks.
YES March & Rally for Scottish Independence. Image by Ivon Bart
No Newsnight after analysis where the main protagonists can debate the message of the day and No Scotland Tonight special about the Historical day when the people of Scotland marched for self-determination
Nope we got niada, niet and nothing more which meant the people who couldn’t make it or weren’t informed of it didn’t get the chance to view or witness this day of Historical value.Neither did the protagonists of either camp get the chance to debate the days events as both the main channels didn’t deem it worthy of airtime?
How are people supposed to make a reasoned choice about our independence if the three terrestrial news channels misrepresent it and basically have a media blackout on one of the biggest days in Scotland’s rich tapestry?
Cant keep the good people down
Iver Campbell an attendee at the rally said
“Before today I had my doubts but now im positive we will have our Independence”
Which leads me on to say that from all accounts the march and rally was a resounding success and no doubt will be placed in the pages of Scotland’s history. The day where many of Scotland’s Sons and Daughters marched through streets soaked in history to the top of Calton Hill and lit a beacon in the hearts and minds of many.
I salute all who marched and your voices will echo through time

Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr Cameron

Major Cameron
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
(Then hides under its bed apparently)

Yesterday our first Minister was sitting down to his Sliced sausage and black pudding rolls in front of the freshly stoked fire at Bute house when he heard the post arrive.
*thump*
Eck must have thought “Deary me those letters sound laden with weighty intentions” and went to investigate the air of selective indignation emanating from the brown envelope with PM embossed in gold leaf.
YEAR Review Politics 42
I can only imagine the delight of our First Minister when he opened the Envelope and got a waft of trapped Brut
aftershave then read as follows:

Dear Eck
Im a bit feart so if you don’t mind I will decline you’re offer to talk about the issues of Scotland as I only value my opinions old chap.Feel free to debate any member of the NO power party as they can’t answer for me and only I know the plans post 2014 on Defence, welfare and taxation.

Love and hugs
DD

No doubt our Fist Minister chuckled all the way to Holyrood with the Prime Minister’s public capitulation ringing in his mind.
Cameron-and-Chicken-22.04.1

Enter the young pretender
Only in The U.K. political arena would we have a Prime Minister asking a back bencher from the opposite party to defend a constitutional matter regarding the future of a Nation?

Even better his chosen defender of the crown has no power in either Parliament which basically means he’s as much use a chocolate fireguard in the debating arena of Scotland’s future.
“Who is this Debating lyrical genius” I hear you ask?
Is he a fabled Political pied piper who  will sway the crowd with his oratory prowess and almost Jedi like command of the Oral mystic arts?
A man who can charm the birds from the trees and sing honey into mead?

Who is this Titan of Oral Mysticism?

*fanfare and cue “eye of the tiger” to lights, smoke and a few mirrors*

Brave Darling

Aye Dave picked the man who single handedly crashed the economy because he was reading zoo when the bankers started playing top trumps with the worlds finances.Even if the Purple Party were in power Darling wouldn’t be suitable as his only qualification is he was Browns fallguy for 2 years.
Not a great endorsement for issues relating to diplomacy or figures and don’t get me started on his nous for defence matters being part of a government who broke international law.
The main issue though is that he has no political title of note or any sway in either of the two Parliaments and hence no place debating on our Referendum.
Obviously the usual suspects are going
“Why wont Eck debate with Darling?” or “He knows Darling will walk all over him”
Seriously Guys?
By the logic of the BetterTogether mindset we could have a debate with Merkel or Hollande as they are also significant in the independence debate if we are using That line of thought?
Maybe wee Tam the milkman or Bobby the postie would be suitable to debate Trident, welfare and taxation policies with also?If its any Scot like Labour cohorts are saying then anyones up for the job right?

The Prime Minister and the First Minister are both on the Edinburgh Agreement so its they who debate being the two main protagonists.

BletherTogether and the Bedroomtax

miliband_TS
I watched First Ministers Questions yesterday and couldn’t believe my eyes ears or other body parts when Johan Lamont of Purple Labour Scotland Division Stood up and asked her first question
*Drum Roll*
Wait for it,its coming……she asked this
“First Minister why are you letting the people of Scotland down on the Bedroomtax”
To a resounding applause not only from the purple corner but the rest of the chamber?
Why would the SNP applaud you ask?Well I will tell you:
The reason why they applauded is because everyone knew the truth, the real truth and not the hollow indignation truth from the Purple wing of Bettertogether.
I don’t actually think Johan Lamont knew the real truth?
If Johan did she must have had a touch of amnesia or she hadn’t read the script she was handed while running from Waverley Station down to Holyrood for her stooshie with that “Nat virus”(her words no mine)
She had just come back from her jollies down to Brighton at the One Nation purple Jamboree so maybe her mind was on ice creams, candy floss on the promenade and not whether people might have better memories than the average brown trout.
Johann Lamont
Lets say though it was major mistake for the person who presides over the only councils who are evicting for this heinous tax, never mind that New Labour were the party who invented, aided and implemented the dastardly Dickensian policy from Westminster back in 2001 for private tenants.
Not only that but this is the first time Miss Lamont has mentioned the bedroomtax at First Ministers Questions since the Tories run with Labours ever so Socialist policy from the last time they were wielding the “denigration of the poorest” Gauntlet from the corridors of power.
Bedroomtax labour

For a party who are so publicly opposed to the bedroomtax there seems to be a lot of evidence against Lamont’s selective indignation on the matter?
Do they actually think we have such short memories that we don’t remember the First eviction by a Labour led council which graced our front page of the daily record only a few weeks ago?
Aye they are so enraged about it they evict for it.
Johann pinnochio
If the purple party are so against the bedroomtax then why did the majority of Scotland’s Labour MP’s abstain on the vote in the commons?
Were they showing their indignation and outrage to the policy by refusing to vote and showing their opposition by playing a few rounds of golf followed by a dram with a cheeky anti bed tax fish supper?
Or is it that they weren’t interested in fighting it because they knew if they challenged it Dickensian Dave could go
“I’m only polishing your policy chaps”

One Nation—A warning from history

One-Nation-LABOURNORTHWEST-460x270

Why we should be concerned about the New Purple Party

When I watched Tony Blair kick clause IV into the history books and when they manhandled the old gentleman at their Conference for being outspoken I truly thought I had seen Labour at its lowest.
Roll forward a few years and several more low points for New Labour under Blair and Brown which inevitably got them ejected from the corridors of power in a landslide defeat in 2010,which no doubt took the wind out the sails of Mandelson not to mention the rest of the champagne Socialists in the right leaning New Labour party.
Johann Lamont

So you can imagine my surprise, shock and a general feeling of nausea when I tuned in to watch Labcon13 at the lovely city of Brighton and Hove and thought I had tuned into Dave’s Dickensian Jamboree?also I was rather shocked to see there was no red rose? Not only that there was no Red(Red was verboten obviously) only a big Blue background with a strange purple St Georges cross on a tory blue background?
What happened to the Red Ed?
If I was an extra in a Warner Bros cartoon a big rain cloud would have appeared with lightning bolts and Boris Karloff music, sadly that’s just my imagination as in reality it was just me and Indydug sitting in an old building in an old town with coffee steaming on the side of my table where the biscuits live.
purple ED

Before everyone goes “Mark yer mad yer aff yer heid” let me say this:
BRANDING IS NEVER DONE BY ACCIDENT!
Political parties and corporations pay people a lot of money to rebrand their new venture or even an old one that needs an image change, from colour to intent it’s all planned to the finest detail.
Every angle is covered and every decision is made to show intent and promote the way us the masses perceive them, especially in today’s world where image is everything to the egomaniacs who like to strut around like peacocks looking for mate.
As you can see the colour purple and the frighteningly inspired One Nation branding exercise by New Labour(Sorry I mean One Nation)Labour is disconcerting to say the least if you actually think about it and what it entails.
Blue and red makes purple remember.
So we have divisive policies mixed with the “My Britain rhetoric” and the odd bit of general denigration of a group of people who’s only crime is they want the right to reclaim their birthright and be in charge of their own affairs..

One Nation Politics is something to be very wary of,if history has taught us nothing else

Becoming the change you want to see

Becoming the change you want to see is a great way to look at life and live in a positive environment even when things are less from perfect. But there again what is perfection?Especially if you contemplate that everyone’s idea of perfection differs slightly, saying that though there is one thing that we probably all agree is a sign of near perfection.
A society that doesn’t put a monetary value over human life is a sign of perfection in my eyes, you know the kind of society that believes in investing in life before buying death is a sign of perfection.
Saying that though we are talking general perfection in a grand scale when we talk of such things or even dream of such things but is it right that we have to dream such things when it’s all possible from our expressions in everyday life.
Someone said once”be the best you can be”and those words resonate with power if you actually take the time to sit down and think about it,obviously im not saying be the best you can be at the detriment of others.
What im saying is quite the opposite in all honesty as what im saying is:Be all you can be by being the “all you can be” to another human being or to a cause you believe in from the core of your being.

scottish-flag.jpg

For me being the change I want to see is getting out and engaging with fellow humans in my everyday life and leaving a seed, whether that be as little as an act of kindness to a smile and a nod to a stranger in the street-Its all seeds you see and from little seeds big trees grow.
That one-act of kindness or the smile to the stranger can change their life as much as yours because next time you encounter the ship you passed in the night no doubt they will feel comfortable to engage with you in a common discourse as they will remember and think”Oh I remember that person who smiled on that day” or “that’s the person who took the time to help”
With that small act of being human you are truly a human being and what is more human than actually being.
